HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!
Today is my Mom's birthday! She was born two minutes early which I think set the stage for her always being on time and organized! :) There are so many things about my Mom that I love- from her great puns to her car exercises to her constant love and encouragement- I couldn't ask for a better best friend and mother! She is constantly serving and taking care of others! She is an amazing example to me and all those around! I hope you have a happy birthday Mom and a wonderful year! I love you googles!!!!

hair drama
It's really hot here and I really like the makeovers they do on the show "What not to wear" so... I chopped my hair- just like that! I haven't cried over my hair for probably twelve years, but when I got home today and looked in the mirror I burst into tears. hehe. It was probably a combination of the hair dresser refusing to cut my bangs how I wanted them and telling me I needed highlights... then when I went to pay for the $20 cut, she said "that'll be $41.25!" I pointed at the window and showed them the $20 sign, but she said that's only if they don't blow dry it, but of course they didn't mention that to me before I got my hair cut. Anyway, I like the cut after playing with it a little. Thanks for letting me vent. :)

HARRY POTTER!!
the weekend
It was so fun to have Jack stay with me for the weekend!! I liked playing tour guide and I'm grateful that Jackie let me practice on her since I'll be having two more visitors before I leave the city. Things I learned... don't walk the Brooklyn Bridge in the middle of a July day- you won't be able to make it across it's so hot! If you go at the end of the Today show and talk to the right camera man you could get some yummy strawberries from the set! :) Find out your visitor's favorite dessert rather then taking them to every good dessert place in NYC. Whether you go to a museum in the morning or evening- you will get tired from walking around! hehe- we had a blast. :)
We love NYC!!Metropolitan Museum of ArtMuseum of Modern Art (MOMA)..Jackie studying the blue paintAn awesome part of Central Park that we discovered..
Cafe Lalo- the cafe Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks go to meet in You've got mail (just a few blocks from my apartment).

Exploring the City
I haven't posted many pictures for awhile, so here are the highlights from my most recent adventures in the city..enjoy...
We discovered this little dessert place in SOHO. It only serves rice pudding and is so delicious!! It is designed so creatively from the funny signs all over the store to the awesome little spoons. I enjoyed the entire experience.. this has to be my new favorite dessert spot!
We finally found Bec's favorite cookie at a little grocery store on the east side.
Trinity Church on Wall St. and Broadway (buried treasure underneath found on National Treasure) :)
Our sore feet after walking from our apartment to the end of the island (over 100 blocks, about 7.6 miles) I wish I was wearing my running shoes- we didn't know we would be going that far!
