5 random facts about me:
1) I love helping people improve their lives and become healthy, but here are other careers I've always wanted to have- card designer, architect, secret agent, ballerina
2) I'm obsessed w/ planners..I know, weird. I bought one for 2008, then bought another that I liked more, then my company gave me one. I can't decide which one to use- anyone need a planner?
3) I talk in my sleep..or sometimes yell. Some highlights reported to me by Jess and Bec H.-
"hahahahaaha(laughing at the top of my lungs), sigh..cool"
"Miles, I love miles, how many miles to candy land?"
4)Ways I destress- yoga and moving furniture :)
5)I'm really good at spotting famous people or maybe I just live & work in the coolest places in NYC ;). Recent celeb sitings: Will Smith, Jennifer Garner & her daughter Violet, Conan O'Brian, Bob Sagat and the whole Today show crew every day. fun fun
I tag Jack, B, Stace, Becca & Kate, Jess (you really should update since Germany..hehe), Mike, and anyone who wants to write 5 random facts about themselves... (I really wish I could tag you all in person..can't wait to see you all soon!)

Whoa! I haven't blogged forever. Sorry! I have blogger's guilt, especially after I was told by many of you that you check often to see if I updated anything. There's been so much going on..where do I begin? November has gone fast.. My parents were here for a few days which was so fun..check out my Dad's flickr site for his amazing NYC pics. Then before I knew it, I was in Logan for Thanksgiving with the whole fam. I'm so grateful for my amazing family and friends...I love you all so much!! This week started out rough with a red eye flight and my suitcase zipper breaking..that's the worst feeling when you see your boot, then makeup bag coming down the baggage claim belt! Then on Tuesday I fell down the stairs at Anthropologie..yes, you can laugh..haha, the pain is gone now. Do you think that was a sign to leave?! Anyway, yesterday was magical with the tree lighting in Rockefeller center, we watched the celebration from my office and then the security guard hooked us up with a great spot when they actually turned on the lights. I'm so happy to be here for the Christmas season, there's something in the air! :) So, these are my random adventures and mishaps from the last month. I'm still waiting for my camera to be fixed..I do better blogging with my pics...stay tuned!

Just do it
This week has been a fun one for my runs through Central park. It's beautiful and I'm always discovering new parts of the park, but this week was especially interesting to watch the set up take place for the NYC marathon, which has more than 90,000 participants. It started with the finish line (that I pretended to run through after 26 miles..haha..really just about 26 min, but someday!), then tents were placed through out the park, tons of trailors were brought in, news interviews yesterday, and a line of 10 Polar spring water trucks. I could feel the excitement in the air yesterday as I walked home from work and saw many people picking up their marathon gear. This morning as I entered the park for my run I discovered a race already happening- the men's olympic team trials! I was able to cheer for Ryan Hall who took first place and to my suprise... my friend from BYU, Nick McCombs! I ran across the park to meet Nick at the finish line. I had no idea he was running this weekend, so it was a fun reunion. Nick already qualified at the St. George marathon, so this race was just for "fun"! amazing! Good luck to Keila, my friend from the ward, running in the marathon tomorrow! Running a marathon is on my "list" of 100 things to do in my life, this week definitely reminded me of that goal and inspired me to go for it!

I found out why New York is called "the city that never sleeps", this week! There is always so much going on and if you participate- you will not get much sleep! :) I had an adventure every single night this week after work..it was so much fun- but I'm definitely exhausted! Here's the week in review.. (my camera is getting fixed right now, so I'll try to round up some pics)

City life!
I'm finally getting settled into my apartment and I've been working now for three weeks. I really enjoy my job and I'm learning lots! Here are some pictures of where I spend most of my time...
my fun little cubicle..tiny kitchen/living room
my co-worker Krishna and I enjoying the US open at Rockefeller plaza during our lunch break..
I love the whole NYC experience- riding the subway to work, walking home through Central Park, chatting about fuji apples with an old lady in the market, eating delicious food, meeting people from everywhere doing just about everything... I'm just missing all of you! Come visit! :)Monday, August 20, 2007
update..
So it's been a crazy few weeks! I got offered a great job in NYC, accepted the job, found an apartment, went home for a week, packed, came back to the big apple and just completed my first day of work! I'm so excited about this job- I get to help people to be healthy and make lifestyle changes- which is exactly what I wanted to do with my college degree. It's amazing that I had no idea what I'd be doing with my life just a few weeks ago and now I have a nice cubical and boss and everything. :) I know that Heavenly Father loves us, is so aware of us and guides us daily! It was so fun to be home. I think I appreciate everything just a little more since living in New York. I enjoyed every moment while home of being with my grandparents, eating moose bars, sitting on the front porch with my mom, seeing dad's excitement for photography, discussing Harry Potter, playing with my neices, learning ways to invest my money from my bro, sleeping in the backyard to watch the meteor shower, watching the same movie three times, seeing my mom's excitement when I let her help me organize my stuff, being with Boomer for her final wedding dress fitting, eating at Mongolian Grill with the Idaho boys, the blue sky, the green grass, driving with Jess, taking a photoshoot of Jess (hehe).... I miss you all! Live and enjoy each moment!
P.S. pictures to come some.. I just can't find my cord in all this unpacking craziness.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!
Today is my Mom's birthday! She was born two minutes early which I think set the stage for her always being on time and organized! :) There are so many things about my Mom that I love- from her great puns to her car exercises to her constant love and encouragement- I couldn't ask for a better best friend and mother! She is constantly serving and taking care of others! She is an amazing example to me and all those around! I hope you have a happy birthday Mom and a wonderful year! I love you googles!!!!

hair drama
It's really hot here and I really like the makeovers they do on the show "What not to wear" so... I chopped my hair- just like that! I haven't cried over my hair for probably twelve years, but when I got home today and looked in the mirror I burst into tears. hehe. It was probably a combination of the hair dresser refusing to cut my bangs how I wanted them and telling me I needed highlights... then when I went to pay for the $20 cut, she said "that'll be $41.25!" I pointed at the window and showed them the $20 sign, but she said that's only if they don't blow dry it, but of course they didn't mention that to me before I got my hair cut. Anyway, I like the cut after playing with it a little. Thanks for letting me vent. :)

HARRY POTTER!!
the weekend
It was so fun to have Jack stay with me for the weekend!! I liked playing tour guide and I'm grateful that Jackie let me practice on her since I'll be having two more visitors before I leave the city. Things I learned... don't walk the Brooklyn Bridge in the middle of a July day- you won't be able to make it across it's so hot! If you go at the end of the Today show and talk to the right camera man you could get some yummy strawberries from the set! :) Find out your visitor's favorite dessert rather then taking them to every good dessert place in NYC. Whether you go to a museum in the morning or evening- you will get tired from walking around! hehe- we had a blast. :)
We love NYC!!Metropolitan Museum of ArtMuseum of Modern Art (MOMA)..Jackie studying the blue paintAn awesome part of Central Park that we discovered..
Cafe Lalo- the cafe Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks go to meet in You've got mail (just a few blocks from my apartment).
